Using CAT6 Solid UTP cable, you can only go half the distance of CAT5/5E.  300 feet of CAT6 is the same amount of cable as 600 feet of CAT5/5E.  This is due to the higher number of twisted pairs in CAT6 and it has a higher skew than CAT5/5E cable which causes colors to smear if you go past the 300 feet and at 500 feet, you wouldn’t get any picture at all.
